Centacare FNQ is the social services agency of the Diocese of Cairns. Covering the region from Cardwell in the south, the Northern Territory in the west and the Torres Strait and Gulf of Carpentaria in the north, we have been supporting the community of Far North Queensland since 1981.

Multicultural Services
Bi-Cultural Support Workers
Position: Casual
Prerequisite: Ability to speak both Swahili and Kinyarwanda is essential

Centacare Multicultural Services presents an exciting opportunity for motivated and professional Swahili and Kinyarwanda speaking Bi-cultural Workers to join their team.

These position’s will provide cultural advice and language support across Multicultural Settlement Services for clients from a refugee and migrant background. Holding an open driver's licence is highly advantageous.

Multicultural Services
Child Care Worker

Position: Casual
Prerequisite: Ability to speak both Swahili and Kinyarwanda is essential

A skilled and motivated Child Care Worker is required to provide supervision and child appropriate activities to children whose guardians/parents are participating in Centacare Multicultural Service (CMS) orientation activities and/or specific community engagement programs. 

Applicants must hold a minimum Certificate III in Childcare or be working towards the qualification. The role entails creating and maintaining a safe, supportive and stimulating environment for the children in a culturally appropriate setting.
