For Employees

If your workplace has nominated Centacare FNQ as their EAP provider, as an employee you have access to free counselling sessions. If you are unsure who your EAP provider is, you can check with your line manager or HR officer.

To access the service, you can contact us by calling 4044 0130 or emailing [email protected]. Our intake worker will organise a time to connect with you via phone to gather more details and get a brief understanding of what support you require to allocate you to a counsellor that will best suit your needs. We aim to be able to offer you an appointment within 7 days of contacting the service. Appointment times are available Monday through Friday between 8:30am to 5:00pm, with late sessions available on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s.

At Centacare FNQ we ensure a client led service and will work with you at your pace. There is no expectation to discuss anything you do not want to talk about and the information you share is kept private. It’s important to know that there are no impacts to your employment to access your EAP and your employer only receives information around total number of staff who have used the service with no identifying information.

It’s important to find a counsellor that you connect with – if you find that you do not connect with your allocated counsellor just let us know and we will work with you to find a better fit.

You can access the service for many different reasons. You may just need to debrief around a particular situation and EAP can be a safe space to unpack. You may have a problem that you are dealing with and find it helpful to talk this through. You may have experienced change or looking to make changes in your personal or work life and wish to learn strategies to support. If you are experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, grief and loss, relationship difficulties and so on, EAP is there to help understand your situation and can offer strategies and support to assist.  In short, there is no one reason to access your EAP and no reason too big or too small.
