Emergency Relief

Centacare FNQ works with other local organisations to deliver emergency relief support in our community and to assist individuals to minimise potential long-term dependence on assistance.

This program is funded by Federal and State Government for vulnerable Queenslanders. This program also aims to prevent future financial crisis by referring people to appropriate financial and social support service.

The type of assistance offered by each organisation varies, however may include one-off assistance such as:

1. food, transport or chemist vouchers 
2. part-payment of utility account/s
3. food parcels or clothing
4. budgeting assistance and/or
5. referrals to other services that help to address underlying causes of financial crisis
