It's a Virtual World at the Social Wellbeing Hub

The COVID-19 pandemic has stopped a lot of global travel this year or perhaps not...

The Centacare Social Wellbeing Hub has continued to deliver positive and upbeat supports to clients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. There may have been restrictions but this has never stopped the team at Holloway’s Beach who have been able to modify most services including fun wellbeing group sessions both online and more recently back in the centre albeit under strict social distancing requirements.

The Social Wellbeing Hub team has been able to provide wellbeing sessions and activities including guided exercises, quiz challenges and music trivia that often concluded with a sing-a-long. Most recently the team have managed to fly under the radar and whisk our clients away on a World tour! Here they are in Mexico!

How wonderful it is to be able to travel from the comfort of your armchair and see, taste, hear and learn about the countries and cultures of the world. Australia’s international borders may be closed but it hasn’t stopped our clients travelling - Ok, so perhaps it’s a virtual world but using imagination, sharing our knowledge and experiences creatively to support the wellbeing of our clients during this difficult time has seen them visit Cuba, Mexico, Ireland, Spain, Japan to name just a few of the places they have been. Our clients are each handed their very own handmade passport and politely asked to fasten their seatbelts before their journey begins - safety first, after all!
