Community Development Worker

Maximum Term to 26 June 2020 - Full-Time 38 hours per week

Centacare Multicultural Services are seeking an experienced and qualified Community Development Worker to provide community development and project coordination to support Centacare services, with a particular focus on multicultural youth. This position will also facilitate community capacity building and advocacy activities and may incorporate a mix of individual and group work frameworks. 

The successful applicant must:

  • Be an experienced youth worker with a passion and energy to engage multicultural youth
  • Thrive in an fast-paced environment
  • Have experience facilitating youth based community development projects
  • Be committed to working within a strength based framework that respects all cultures

Applicants must have, or be eligible for, a Working with Children ‘Blue Card'; Yellow Card or eligibility/exemption for suitability for working with people with a disability and be able to undergo a satisfactory National Police Check.

This position offers an attractive remuneration package (Centacare EA Level 4 - gross salary commencing at $67,502 p.a.) as well as excellent benefits and working conditions including salary packaging, flexi-time and 5 weeks annual leave.

Centacare Multicultural Services is seeking multiple casual Case Manager’s to provide case management settlement services as part of the Humanitarian Settlement Program. This will include information, referral, and case management support to clients from a refugee background.

The successful applicants will possess a degree level tertiary qualification relevant to the position and a passion for working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities. Applicants must have case management experience and be eligible for a Working with Children ‘Blue Card’, a Yellow Card or eligibility/exemption for suitability for working with people with a disability and be able to undergo a satisfactory National Police Check. Possession of a QLD driver’s licence is a requirement. 

This position offers a casual hourly rate of $41.3266 as well as excellent working conditions.

We are a values-driven organisation that aims to provide the best possible services to meet the needs of people in our community.  Centacare Counselling Services are seeking an experienced and qualified Counsellor to provide intake, assessment, referral and appointment management for prescribed Centacare programs.  The position will also identify and address the client’s initial needs whilst providing initial counselling and carry an ongoing client case load.

Being the first point of contact for Centacare services, the successful applicant will be guided by a Clinical Governance Framework and possess a high level of ethical, empathic and respectful practice skills. Applicants must have, or be eligible for, a Working with Children ‘Blue Card'; Yellow Card or eligibility/exemption for suitability for working with people with a disability and be able to undergo a satisfactory National Police Check.
