The NDIS will roll out in Far North Queensland from mid 2018 and we need passionate and highly skilled individuals to join our team to support people with a psychosocial disability to transition into the NDIS. To achieve the best possible outcomes for participants, we are seeking applicants with an understanding of the NDIS, experience working within the mental health and/or disability sector, proven skills in supporting people, excellent communication and practice knowledge.

These positions offer an attractive remuneration package (Centacare EA Level 4 – gross salary between $59,445 - $65,976 p.a.) as well as excellent benefits and working conditions.

Multicultural Services

Bi-cultural Worker

REPORTS TO:  Team Leader Settlement Services

Position Summary

Centacare FNQ is seeking a Congolese Bi-Cultural Worker to provide cultural advice and language support across migrant settlement services for clients from a refugee and migrant background using their ability to translate and interpret from Swahili, French or Kinyarwanda to English.

The positions will provide cultural advice and language support across multicultural services for clients from a refugee and migrant background. Applicants must be fluent in both the nominated language and English and have good communication skills. Under general direction, this position may also assist in the delivery of case management and community development projects on a range of topics, including culturally sensitive community concerns.

Mental Health and Wellbeing - Coaching

Support Worker

Two Positions - Maximum Term until 30 June 2019
Part-time 25 hours/week
Closing Date: 5pm Monday 28th May 2018

Centacare FNQ is seeking 2 part time Support Workers to provide direct support to participants of the program (people living with a severe mental illness and/or psychosocial disability) in line with the participants’ needs identified in their coaching/service plan.

Support Workers will be required to assist participants to develop their plans and to maintain accurate session notes/data describing their work with participants.

Support Workers will follow Centacare’s coaching and recovery practice frameworks to guide their work with participants.

The position offers an attractive remuneration package (Centacare EA Level 3 – gross salary commencing at $50,767 p.a. pro rata) as well as excellent benefits and working conditions.

Case Manager 

PROGRAM:  Centacare Multicultural Services

Position Summary

Centacare Multicultural Services is seeking a Case Manager L4 to provide case management settlement services as part of the Humanitarian Settlement Program. This will include information, referral and case management support to clients from a refugee background.

The successful applicants will possess a degree level tertiary qualification relevant to the position and a passion for working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities. Applicants must have case management experience and be eligible for a Working with Children ‘Blue Card’, be able to undergo a satisfactory National Police Check and possess a QLD driver’s licence.

Resilience Coach / Group Facilitator

Centacare FNQ is seeking Resilience Coaches to provide one to one coaching sessions and group facilitation, working in partnership with people who experience severe menatl illness and emotional distress to develop skills, realise potential and reclaim a life beyond the impacts of mental illness. Resilience Coaches will follow Centacare's coaching and recovery practice frameworks to guide their work with participants.
