Centacare FNQ offers opportunities for volunteers to give their time, life experience and skills to the community while enhancing service delivery to clients.

Volunteering is mutually beneficial to both Centacare and the volunteer.

All Volunteers are required to:

  • Have an interview and two reference checks
  • Obtain a 'working with children check' Suitability Card (Blue Card)
  • Attend a training session

Volunteer Opportunities within Centacare Multicultural Services (CMS)

Volunteers provide ongoing practical assistance to new and recently arrived refugees with the aim of empowering them towards independence. Centacare Multicultural Services engages volunteers in various client support roles including accessing public transport and homework assistance.

People who volunteer with Centacare Multicultural Services have a commitment to social justice, well developed communication skills, are keen to learn about the challenges faced by refugees and migrants and have a strong commitment to working in a culturally appropriate manner.
