Settlement Services

Case Management & Casework

Centacare FNQ provides Settlement Services that use a strengths based approach, working with people to build the skills and knowledge they need to become self-reliant and active members of the Australian community. The following Casework and Case Management assistance is provided:

  • Support to refugees and humanitarian entrants to assist them in their first 6 - 18 months in Australia. Humanitarian entrants are referred directly into the Centacare by the Department of Social Services
  • Specialised intensive support is available to humanitarian visa holders who have complex needs. This support is usually up to 6 months. People requiring intensive support for complex issues can be referred by any individual or organisation and must be approved by the Department of Social Services
  • Support to asylum seekers and vulnerable people who are in the process of resolving their immigration status. We can help eligible people apply for this service through the Department of Home Affairs.
  • Support for people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to address settlement needs.
  • Self-referral - call and make an appointment.
